Ted dashboard help
Settings tab: business details and website text
The Settings tab holds your business details, links, colours and the wording on your website. Make your changes, then press Save changes in the bar at the bottom of the screen.
Business details
- Business name (required).
- Your name, shown in the Meet the tradie section.
- Phone and Public email, shown on your website.
- Address, shown publicly and used for your map. Optional.
Social links
Add your Facebook page, Instagram profile, LinkedIn page, TikTok profile or YouTube channel. Paste the full web address. Add only the ones you use: empty ones don't show on your website.
Brand colours
Pick the colour set your website uses. Each choice shows its three colours.
Menu bar
- Business name: your logo, if you've added one, plus your business name.
- Logo only: just your logo. Suits a logo with your name in it, or a long name. Add your logo on the Photos tab first.
WhatsApp button
Off unless you turn it on. Choose On to add a WhatsApp button so customers can message you. It only shows when the phone number on your account is a NZ mobile that can use WhatsApp.
Safety memberships
Tick the NZ safety memberships or prequalifications your business holds now: Site Safe member, SiteWise prequalified, Totika prequalified or SHE Pre-Qual prequalified. Only choose ones you're allowed to display. Leave them all off to hide this from your website.
Certifications and licences
Press Add certification or licence for each current trade credential, such as a Licensed Building Practitioner licence. Add who issued it and, if there is one, a public link where visitors can check it. Your website shows these as details you supplied.
Website text
The Website text panel lets you change the headings and wording on your website. It is split into sections in page order. Tap a section to open it:
- Top of the home page (headline, the line under it and the two buttons)
- About the business (including the ticks next to your photo)
- Services (including your list of services: Add a service or Remove service)
- Recent jobs and Instagram, How it works, Why choose us, Reviews and Questions (FAQ)
- Where we work, and Area pages (write {area} where the area name goes)
- Quote section, Other page headings and the Health & safety page
- Footer and other small text
- Search results: the titles and descriptions Google shows for each page
Each box shows what your website says now. Clear a box to go back to the standard wording. Want something changed that isn't here, such as adding a new page or area? Use Ask Ted for a change on the Leads tab.
When the Instagram panel is shown, press Connect Instagram to show your latest Instagram posts on your website. They refresh on their own every day. You need an Instagram business or creator account. You can switch for free in the Instagram app under Settings, then Account type and tools.
If Instagram asks you to connect again, press Connect again. Press Disconnect to take your posts off your website. Instagram connects straight away and doesn't need Save changes.
