Privacy Policy
Who we are
Ted is a done-for-you website and prospecting service for New Zealand tradespeople, operated by AIREA DIGITAL LIMITED, NZBN 9429053969149, trading as Airea Digital ("Airea", "we", "us"). We are the agency responsible for personal information handled through Ted. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. It covers our website at ted.airea.co.nz and the services we provide, and takes effect on 21 September 2026.
Change of operator
From 21 September 2026, AIREA DIGITAL LIMITED is Ted's legal operator. Personal information previously collected for Ted, including prospect, enquiry, preview and service records, is now held and managed by AIREA DIGITAL LIMITED for the purposes described in this policy. Your privacy rights and our obligations under the Privacy Act 2020 continue to apply.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use Ted, we may collect:
- Details you give us: your name, business name, trade, suburb, phone number, email and logo when you request a preview, place an order or contact us.
- Enquiries to tradie sites: when a customer contacts a website we built (by quote form or live chat), we process that enquiry on the tradesperson's behalf and pass it to them.
- Sign-in details: if you choose to sign in to your customer console with Google or Microsoft, that provider shares your name and email address with us so we can match you to your order. We never receive your password or access to anything else in that account.
- Billing information: subscription and payment details, handled by our payment provider (we do not store full card numbers).
- Usage information: basic technical data such as pages visited and device type, used to keep the service working and improve it.
How we use your information
- To build, run and support your website and the Ted service.
- To deliver customer enquiries and chat messages to you.
- To take payment and manage your subscription.
- To contact you about your account, or, where you've asked us to, about your quote or a bespoke project.
- While you're a paying customer, to email you from time to time with product news and updates about Ted. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and opting out doesn't affect service emails about your account.
- To keep the service secure and meet our legal obligations.
Sharing and third parties
We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with trusted providers who help us run the service, and only as needed, for example payment processing, website hosting and delivery, email, and the messaging tools that route enquiries to you. Those providers are bound to protect your information. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
Product update emails are sent through Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France). We share only your name, email address and the product you use with Brevo.
If you connect your Instagram account to show your latest posts on your website, we receive your Instagram username, account type and your recent posts (photos, captions and links), plus an access token that lets us refresh them. We store the token encrypted, use it only to show your own posts on your own website, and never post, message or comment for you. You can disconnect at any time from your dashboard or from Instagram's settings; we then delete the token and every photo we copied from your account. You can also ask us to delete this data by contacting us.
Cookies and tracking
We use a small number of cookies and links to keep the site working and to understand which of our own marketing links people follow. We don't use them to build advertising profiles of you.
Keeping your information
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it to provide the service and meet our legal and accounting obligations, then delete or de-identify it.
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it's wrong. Email us and we'll help.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep yours safe.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above always shows the current version.
